"Reel Memories" maiden voyage trip to Erie (Formula 233 finally done!)
Well we took the boat on its first trip Memorial day weekend. We caught some nice walleye and had a great time. In fact we had so much fun that we went back up last weekend. The fish averaged 4 lbs. each with one going 8 lbs. and one went 10 lbs. We had no problems (other than a couple line tangles). Here are a few pics of the finished boat (for those of you who haven't followed my project thread, the boat is a 1970 Formula 233 that just got finished after three years!). There is also a couple of pics of my favorite fishing partners with a couple fish. Next weekend we are off to Lake Michigan for a few salmon and steelhead.
Beautiful overhaul job - you'd never guess that boat is 38 years old!
Just reviewed your previous thread tracing the progress of the job; a lot of great info in there. You and your 'glass crew did a fabulous job, and the end result bears me out on that.
Nice catch, and your crew seems pretty happy with them.

wow that is one of the prettiest restore jobs I've ever seen. I love that layout also. Just out of curiousity do you have any performance numbers on her yet? I see you went with new controls for the Yammies.

As much as I enjoyed your restoration pics, it's great to see you out on the water putting her to good use with the fam. Looks like all that hard work paid of in spades - congrats.
