Default My First Boat

Hi everyone.

So last weekend my Father ran into this guy selling this.

Its a 1995 Chaparral 2130 SST, it has a rebuilt MErc 5.7L.

Took him out last sunday 26 Miles off key biscayne without any problems, it came with a Garmin 168 and 2 Batteries.

I was able to clock him with the GPS at 55Mph.

Anyways, its not exactly a fishing boat, but thats what i'll be using it for until my business takes off and i can afford that 27' CC.

The trailer is extremely rusted but we're getting it fixed ASAP or replacing it, Paid 6000, what do you think??

Sorry about the crappy pics, it was nighttime and i really wanted to post something here

ANY boat can be a fishing boat, some are just better at it.I fitted out a '76-19' Crestliner Norseman cabin cruiser for the Great Lakes and it "had it all".

Got yourself(or dad does) a decent all-around rig. Should get decent gas mileage too! Can't hardly go wrong at the price. If you know how(or learn)to maintain it, it should be a pretty cheap ride.

That's your first boat! Nice

Mine was a 13 foot aluminum named "JoBoTo", it had oar locks and styrofoam under the seats so it would float after we routinely sank it. Of course I was nine years old... you're not nine are ya?

Nice boat. I have taken my bow rider into the ocean laot and I would suggest getting a front snap on bow cover. Seeing as you don't have scuppers I wouldn't want you to rely on the bilge pump. I have taken some large waves over the bow and they roll off of the cover back into the ocean. On a side note check the automatic bilge pump to make sure it works.

Enjoy
