The 44' 1989 dayboat was Built in about 1990 and became Miramar. I think the original name was Charmer. It was the prettiest boat I had ever seen. I got to fish it for a couple or three years. Great boat. Sold around 2006 and went from NC back to Fla. That boat has a lot of miles between NC and Fla.! I have lots of pics...don't know how to post
Was "Charmer" originally named "Ruthie" ? Charlie Bushard (spelling) had a 30 foot rybo made for him to fish for sails by himself I saw the boat in Pt Judith one season then he never brought it back. This is either the same boat or hull #2 of the same design.
Didn't Bernie Madoff have a Rybovich in Palm Beach named Bull? I swear I just read something about that. He also had a smaller boat named Little Bull?
Magnus,
He did and it is pictured in this album (hard to see name on transom - it's the boat with the funky elevator from the cockpit to the bridge). He was there at the Rybovich rendezvous. Of course it was February 2008, so I couldn't have known what was to happen. If I had any inclination I would have taken more pics. The boat has been confiscated and hopefully will end up in caring (and capable) hands. This boat was known for having been meticulously maintained by Rybovich.

At least he had good taste in boats. That's probably the only good thing anyone can say about him now. They are the benchmark in quality and beautiful boats. Thanks for posting up the photos and thanks for answering my question, it was racking my brain.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they are probably in the top 3 of quality and craftmanship in all of boats? Are there any better, say Merritt or Spencer? What about the ride, how do the compare to the usual Hatteras or custom NC boats?

I ran the Miramar, a 44' express for a few years (also formally named "Charmer") and they are indeed high quality boats but that one was not made to handle the 60 mile run to the stream over the long haul. We had to redo engine mounts (two popped out of the stringers while running) and had some other issues in the engine room. Was not caused from exessive speed, boat only cruised at 22 knots with 6-71's. Again great boat but not the ride of a Hatt (much heavier) or Carolina hull. To me a big Viking (50+) rides best.
Theres one up here in jersey a lot, that had the same problem

I wont say the name for the owners sake but it is named different for 15 years then any above. I saw it this week end 80 miles out in the canyons. She had I believe a cracked engine bed 15 years ago and still under the same name. The rybos are beautiful but you got to know your limits.
Thanks Pat and Rybo 18. I used to wait on Kay at the Tavern back in the early 90`s. She was a hoot and had many funny stories. She may have caught more giant BFT`s than Eddie Murray. Wish I had seen this earlier.
I had the great fortune to fish on the "Bound n Blue" a few times. It is a 1961/2 ? 48' FB. No tower at the time as it went out of Boynton with a fixed bridge. I felt so entilted as the admiring stares craned necks in the cut.
It had the original Cat 3208`s in it. Stunning joinery.
Rybo18 do you know where she is now?
Pat555, I was finally able to buy and old 20 SeaCraft and we feel the same way. Often imitated, Never duplicated. Are you a member of the fishing club? Love to meet you and chat.

Gofast,
Bound-n-blue (1961), Hull #46, is still named that and my understanding is that it's in Savannah. The ownership rolls indicate that it is owned by JP Morgan. It has always been called that and I believe that comes from the original owner being a book publisher. There are a lot of current and historical photos of that hull, so I imagine it will be well represented in Pat's upcoming book.
That is one ugly old tower though, isn't it? A new big ole tower would look really good on that hull. And I have never liked the solid little wing curtains. Most are clear, but every now and then you see these solid canvas ones. Not only does it limit your view out of the cockpit, I think it changes the lines of the boat.
