Random Quote: Everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I have stayed alive
I have been helping a friend build a 21 foot center console. This will be powered by a small cummins... We have worked out a real nice plan... I work with him one day and he works with me the next... This is how we will get these boats done... Thought you would like to see some pics...

Just a thought, there are a few people that access the THT from a dial up connection and their is no way they will ever see your3mb's worth of pics. Might want to consider shrinking those a little.
Good luck and keep the progress pics coming!

God almighty, that thing is built like a freekin tank! It has the scantlings of a 45' boat. You wont be bustin that one up any time soon. Nice lines to boot! Good luck.
She is tough. We did her with 4 layers of 1/2" ply on the transom. 2 layers of 3/8" on the bottom, 2 layers of 1/4" on the sides... Same as my 32'. 1708 on the bottom, 1208 on the transom and sides. The engine is going to be an I/O... Lift kept..... I will post pics tomorrow after we get the sides glassed....
WHAT? A boat made of wood? The sky must be falling!! Tarbaby, haven't you heard .... a boat MUST be wood-free construction if it is expected to live any longer than 10 years. Wood is BAD!
Seriously -- really nice boat. I was getting ready to ask what weight biaxial you were using and I saw taht you beat me to the punch. Are you using West epoxy or another brand? I used West for about 8 years and when it hit $100/gallon, I started experimenting with other brands. Used Progressive epoxy for about 3 months and it was OK but not great ... it was strong enough but had a high viscosity was was hard to wet-out and cloths. I'm now using RAKA epoxy and it is absolutely great. I buy it 30-gallons at a time for about $40/gallon.
Are there plans out there for boats like this?? How would one get started on a project like that
I'd like to know also. A few other questions - What tools do you need to start a project like this? What skills do you need? (I can do things mechanical but I'm not the best when it comes to wood), and How much does it cost to frame up and glass the boat to the point before adding engines, electronics, etc.?
These plans are not where tarbaby got his but a place to start looking. We built the phantom 18 flats boat from that site and it is a nice boat. When we built it all you could get was the plans so I have no idea if their kits are worth the price but I would look at the kit for the price since it is cut on a cnc machine. I am sure tarbaby and others can attest to the time it takes to cut, fit, trim, fit, trim, fit and repeat. You still get all the joys of using the long block and fairing. They have two carolina style cc's in the mid 25 foot range. http://www.bateau.com/products.php?cat=18
And an inboard on anything shorter than the QE2. Pure blasphemy.
