Sharp looking boat - wow - I enjoyed it all the way from Iraq. I am in the process of building a Tolman. My hull is done but is bare. Thanks for the inspiration. It has been over 10 months since I have had epoxy on my clothes and sanding dust in my shoes. Now I just have to get back to the states and get back to work.
Pretty Lady I would say. One thing I see that will be a problem in time is that soneone will grab that windsheil and break it. I know a ss grabrail will throw it off,but will be needed and I am sure you though about it too.
dude that boat looks amazing. I remember when I was up there buying the old tower off of Captdrunks mako and he showed it to me. It was still in the sanding stages. It looks awesome now. Where did you find that stern nav light?

I have about 40 hours on the engine now, and have burned a total of 95 gallons. We mostly cruise around the Pamlico river, but have also been to Ocracoke for lunch; which is about a 58 nautical mile trip, one way. I am quite pleased with the efficiency of the boat. It's hard to believe that we are averaging less than three gallons of fuel per hour, but the proof is in the fuel tank.
We are able to cruise at 25-26 kts @ 3400 rpm, and have a top speed of 32-33 kts @ 4300 rpm. Quite frankly, (If I am not in a hurry)I like to run between 2800 and 3000 rpm at 20-22kts and let that torquey little diesel hum along. It is not comfortable going too fast in a small boat with the typical river chop. So, we often throttle back a little and enjoy the ride.
This boat was not built to be a speed demon; the main focus was to design and build a comfortable efficient small boat for the family. I am glad to say that we have accomplished our goals. We'll get some finished water photos on the thread soon. Thanks for the kind comments.
You are top notch craftsmen and artists. What a fine piece of work. Congratulations!
Maybe I'll see you on the pamlico or somewhere on the waters of the old North State. I'd love to see it in person.
Please favor us with any more pictures of future projects.
Good stuff!
