Shamefully I too have to agree. This has been such a wonderful adventure for all of us. Thanks guys for taking us along. PLEASE keep up updated with pictures, video, and hey... maybe a fish or two.
You guys rock!!!!!!!
Ahh .... dont you boys fret. The 32 is next and I can only imagine it will be equally as impressive!!! When do y'all expect to get back to the 32? Gonna take a little break after the 21 is painted?
Take a break? Hell no! I am gonna crack the whip on Ol' Victoria and get him back in my shop!!!! After we tighten up the 21 though. We also have a 22-24 in the shop that needs completion ... I will do my best with the pictures... I need a better camera. This one is an old digital, 1.3 mega pixel... You guys are missing on the details with this one so I will look this weekend for at least a 10 mega pixel....
We would intertain any offers on building any of you a boat. 18'-60'. I guess we need to hang a shingle.

Wow! Thats exciting news! Can not WAIT to see that 32 take shape. Hope you guys get a couple orders on the books!
I am in awe. I have watched this build from day one and all I can say is Wow. I am a Turbo Diesel fan and that is what attracted me, but the craftsmanship is what held my attention. I would trade my twin engine walkaround in a heartbeat for this boat, and mortgage my home to pay the balance. Awesome work! Speechless.
I'm freezin my butt off and y'all are cruisin. I'm showin pics to the admiral and I'm all choked up. Can't emagine how you guys feel. It's been OUR privilege to watch the build.
This thread keep me comming back every day to see the progress.
I love it, I LOVE IT. There i said it im old enough to show my emotions.
We just dont have people who make boats like that here.
Maby if i ever move out of my town house and into a place with a big garage i will build something with these lines.
Keep up the work, it looks fantastic.
PS I bet you guys are still getting glass out of your arms from all of that sanding.

The fiberglass is long gone, thank goodness. I'm still getting paint off of my eyelashes though! We still have to paint the hullsides and bootstripe, and the nonskid decks in the cockpit floor. We are waiting for a period of warm weather to get this final painting done. It is currently snowing here in Washington, NC, which is a rarity. So, we won't be painting today!
Curiosity question; How much bigger would you guys have had to go to do a jackshaft arraingement?
The original plan was to use a jackshaft set-up. Once we did the preliminary transom layout with the Mercury Alpha outdrive, we discovered that the driveshaft would be too high to get under the existing deck. The driveshaft centerline is dictated by the outdrive and it's location relative to the deepest part of the "V" at the transom. Since this boat is relatively low to the water, the jackshaft would not work without a "hump" in the cockpit floor. So, I opted for the close-coupled arrangement. In addition, the jackshift components cost an additional $3k, and this also helped me make the decision to do it the way we did.
To get a jackshaft in my boat, the cockpit sole would have to be 3-4" higher. I did not want to raise the deck on this particular boat. I have a friend that is building a 24, and he will use the jackshaft. His boat, though only 3' longer, has a good bit more freeboard and will be a good candidate for the jackshaft.
Sorry to heare about the snow. Look on the bright side. At the other end of the world, its 95 today with 65% Humidity and im going marlin fishing this week end.
Cheers
Another curiosity question, when setting up a sterndrive that is basically a one off. How do you optimize the mounting height of the outdrive? With outboards you can adjust or use a jackplate but with the outdrive it seems more like an educated guess and hope it works well.

There are templates and big thick books that come with each engine/drive set up.... read and re-read and then read some more. Then we call on our buddy that sets up the X dimensions at Fountain..
This is an absolutely DROP DEAD GORGEOUS AND BACK TO LIVE AGAIN boat. I just found out about this thread and had to read it all. Took me three (3) hours. Can't wait to see the final pictures. Congratulations and thanks! Never imagined that such a thing was possible.
