Default A few pics of Lessner Bridge area, Virginia Beach

My favorite spot in Virginia Beach. During the winter, I watch the pilot boats head out to the cargo ships to guide them into port and watch the fishing boats head out to the bay bridge for stripers. I would be out there too however, my boat threw a u-joint and took out the gimbal housing first trip out (my fault), the repair took me all summer. Tomorrow will be 75 degrees down here and my boat is now ready, so I'm taking the day off and heading out for a shake down cruise. If all goes well, I will go out with the whole family Saturday then winterize Sunday and get back to work on my other boat.

That boat ramp channel is a tad tricky at low water with the tide still rolling out!!

I loved that area... Remember one launch when it was like 12 degrees out and we froze our butts off. Ran from there to Eastern Shore, back to the 3/4 tunnel, back again to the Eastern Shore and then slow trolled out on the reef.

Thanks for the memories..

I caught a fat flounder in September right off of Bubba's [in the first pic] when the Bay was too rough to go out. Lynnhaven Inlet is a great place, plenty of places to pull in for a cold one, and close to the Chesapeake bay bridge Tunnel.

Chick's Fish tacos rule !!

I used to fish from shore there sometimes. Great pics.
