I've tried this thread once before and the pictures were to large to upload. Well, I finally resized them and have some time to post.
This was my honeymoon trip to the island of Provo. All of these were taken the last week of June this year.
Enjoy
The view from our room
These are pics from a resturant called the Conch Shack, if you look close you can see some local kids under the spindal.

This is the local conch farm
Bone fish on the fly. This was no easy task!!
Bottom Fishing
We kept some of the fish we caught and went to a secluded beach and fired up the grill and made a small feast. We also dove for some local fresh conch and made a great conch salad.
Looking back at the boat from the beach.
Hats off to our internet tour guide Gringo. He made some great recomendations.
Hey, I know those people!! By the way, their other World Cat, "Lady Skye" is going up for sale. It's got two Honda 200's on it. I think you were on the "Ally Cat" with twin 130's.
Winter fishing is starting to pick up, finally. We hooked up with two wahoo today. Got to keep one of them, and part of the other.
Great pictures! Looks like the weather was perfect! Just a question did they except American dollar or did you have to exchange? If you exchaged, how was the conversion? I think that place defines paradise!!! Congrats on getting married!
Their currency here is the US Dollar. Makes things very simple. They tried having their own currency some years back. The locals called them lobster dollars. But it just never stuck.
Contractor - glad you had a great vacation. It's a very special place.
The WC was a great boat. It was a pretty nice ride, but as Gringo mentioned it had twin 130's which was proably not quite enough power, twin 200's would have been sweet. However, for down there it was fine. You don't have to make any long runs to fish, the stream is literally right off the beach. It's a little tough to bottom fish out at anchor because of the distance from the back of the boat to the back of the engines. I had to stand on the transom as you can see in the pic to clear the engines, which would have been tough on a rough day. Other than that it was a great boat.
The conch is certainly a strange creature. The one pictured is a male and the black thing on the right is the long dong.
That sucker when fully "extended" is over two feet long, which allows it to enter the female shell. They are great to eat. I bet I ate conch prepared 5 different ways.
TCI has its own currency. Well, just the dollar and it's a coin. It's really just for the tourist to take home with them. Every place we went accepted the US dollar or any major credit card. We did not even take any travelers checks, just cash and the debit card.
Gringo/La Gringa, you all really have something special down there. It's like no place I've ever been. The resturants and food are all great and the fact that there are so few tourists made it even better. We would go and sit on the beach and see maybe 20 people the whole day. When we went bone fishing we ran about 30 miles south and did not see another boat the entire day.
The folks at Catch the Wave were some of the nicest people I've come across. Erin came and picked us up at our hotel and when we were done fishing they drove the boat up to our hotel and dropped us off. Talk about service with a smile.
It's a fantastic place filled with great people and we look foward to going again soon.
