Thank you for your gratifying comments.
Since January I moved to head another company. Since this boat section was just my toy ground (no profit no loss but time consuming) and my replacement not that addict to boats, this section has been closed and the know how gone.

Here are some other pieces that they did:

little speed boat:

Classic brass rivet planking dinghy:

23 launch:

5 meters sea kayak only 27 kg

This will surely never happen again

Wow, great job. The boat I built took almost 3 years working alone but that pales in comparison to 18,000 man hours. Absolutely a work of art!

Pierre

I am so sorry to hear this (well, if you are sorry.) As you know, I have admired your shop's work so much. I have not seen the 23 launch before. In some ways, I may like it the best of all of them. I hope the new venture goes well, but it sounds as if your hobby is at an end....or at least, looking for a new direction?

You say the section is closed and the know-how gone; but what has happened to the boats?

Regards.

The several 23' launches have been sold a while ago. The kayaks we have sold also a dozen. Remains some rowing dinghies (sold several), the 20' and the small speed boat.
There are some interested people, but it seems that the 20' is going to be sold too cheap. Which upsets me, but as I left the head of thecompany, I can only advise my replacement. The problem is that if that boat needs any rework (guarantee, mods,...), there is nobody to ensure anymore.

The carpenter team has been "moved" after my departure.

So this is the final of that little story. And on short to medium term, no more boats to build for me. The teak sand box is closed. And I do not think anybody will ever afford building such boats anymore.

I'm surprised you didn't get any posts telling you it should have been a catamaran.

you have done a fantastic job so far. I would hate to get it wet or a scratch on while launching it. It belongs in a museum. Nice job.
