David, the Norwalk show is one of the best. Great variety of boats and the booths are well worth it as well. The weekend gets pretty busy so if you can go thursday or friday, you will have an easier time getting on some of the boats and there will be a smaller crowd.

I really like the Norwalk show.. pretty well attended by all the manufacturers and very manageable. The docks -for the big boys- get pretty congested on Sat/Sun so I recommend going during the week, if you can swing it. I'm going Thurs.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm shooting for Thursday if my kids, wife and Port Jefferson ferry cooperate. I'm more interested in
boats below 28'. Anything above that is simply marine pornography for me.

Norwalk is the best one in this area. I stopped going to tha Javits show, its not for boaters, I think its for people just kicking tires and getting out for a day.

Mahalo.. I feel exactly the same way about Javits show... though I do like the soft pretzels.

Takimoto.. how do you like your Southport? That's one of the boats I want to look at more closely.

Anyone know what channel the tender service monitors if you want to anchor out and get a lift into the show?

Thanks for the help. Channel 18 it is. However, in years past, I have always dropped the hook NW of the channel and I see for this description that I should be doing it NE of the channel this year. Any thoughts? I seem to have been directed to the right spot but do not really recall for sure. I draw 5 feet of water.

Went to the show today. Wow. Everything from dinghies through million dollar yachts. Just wonder who's buying those big ticket items. Lots of glum salespeople.

Took a look at the Southport Express. Much better looking in person than in pictures. But more interested in the CC.
Looks like SP will be building a bigger CC and Express to take advantage of the 350 hp engines. They are huge!

Where can we park at the Norwalk show? I'm comming from Danbury and my friend is coming from Westfield, MA. The website doesn't mention parking and we dont want to get lost. Any ideas?

In years past there is plenty of parking. You should see signs as you approach.

DavidKup... Salty Dog summed it up right: It's been fantastic and I couldn't be happier. The ride is incredible and the build quality is top notch. I've posted my thoughts on it a couple times but if you have any other questions, feel free to PM me as well.

I was at the show yesterday, as well (sorry ALB, I was coming back from a business trip so didn't have my camera). It was great to meet Frank Longino from SP and thank him for making such a great boat. I liked the 28EX more than I thought I would. I'm a pretty firm believer that any boat with a cabin under 30' or so is usually a boat full of compromises, but SP did a more than admiral job getting it all together. That said, I'll wait for them to come out with the 34 before I toe that line.

My favorite boat at the show might have been the Jersey Cape 36' Devil. Absolutely beautiful boat. Love the flare of the bow and the centered helm. Very cool.

The Jersey Cape Devil is a stunning boat. Was afraid to ask how much. On the luxury end, the interior of the Grand Banks was spectacular. But for 700K plus I guess it should be. Also impressed by the Stamas 31 CC.

After checking out all of the 25-26 CCs I have to say the Southport is the cream of the crop. The Edgewater seemed to have a little more interior room but the concave windshield made everything look out of focus. I also thought the hatch hardware and overall construction was superior on the SP.

Just wish some manufacturer besides Intrepid would build a well designed CC/walkaround hybrid. The Contender Fisharound misses the target from my perspective.
