Default Venice Sept 8-9

To my buddy and our 13yr. old sons out fishing Sat and Sun. Started out Sat. for tuna. Caught good bait fairly quickly, then headed to first rig to try tuna. My son caught Cuda before he started a continuous chum line. It was not pretty, him or the seas. Second bait never made it out.

We headed North to calmer water and caught our limit of Red snappa and few misc reef fish.

Decided to go straight after snappa Sun moring due to wind. The seas were still bad. Ran 15mph out. Caught quick limit and few extra misc fish. Headed in by 10am. Too rough to try much else. Kids could barely stay on their feet. Was able to run 30 in the following sea back to pass.

I only saw 1 tuna come to the dock Sat. I am glad we did not stay long!

Good to see your kids having fun. Too bad it was a bit rough but you cant change the weather.

We caught some big red snapper at the 12 mile rigs 2 weekends ago. 15-18 lbs. Tuna were everywhere buy none were biting.

We had about a 15-20knot wind out of the E-SE Sat. I did not want to make that ride to the 12 or 24 mile rigs. We took SP then went 180 to blue water then N to East Bay. As you can see, we had to catch about 20 red snapper to get 1 legal! I don't think we had a red snapper over 17". That is not where we wanted to go, but the weather gave us not choice. We could not even chum up any mangroves. The mangroves we caught were on the bottom and eating crack hardtail. I think the kids would really have a good time in there on a nice day and light tackle.
