You know you have been on a boat ride when you get to the Hudson Canyon! I was out last Thursday and also did well with the albacore or long fin tuna. Did you seen any mahi? We had 3 and we lost 1 wahoo. Are you fishing on a contender??

WME, Yes, we were fishing a 27 Contender w/ 200 HPDI's, not my rig I was just a guest. We saw some Mahi jumping around the pots but did not pursue them. Boat ran awesome for it's size, it was pretty snotty in the am for the first half of the trip but the boat handled it. It laid down nice for the trip home. Welder, I believe we ran 75-80 miles to get to the fishing grounds.

Striper,

How much fuel did you guys burn?? My hudson trips are usually 160-170 gallons covering a little over 300 miles. Sandy Hook is a long run! I usually take it easy on the way out and if possible come home doing around 42 mph.

I'm a friend of Joey's from Rincon, Puerto Rico. I recognized him in the picture. He had told me about his new Contender and about the trip this past weekend. Seems like you guys had a good time!!

Joe was telling me about the fishing down there...sounds fantastic! I spent 2 1/2 months in Aguadilla/Rincon 17 years ago and had a blast surfing and exploring the island. How is the fishing down there Jan-March? I have yet to plan my winter vacation but a combined surfing/fishing trip would be nice.

Striper97,

Nice job. We were out there along side of you for a while in a blue 31 Jupiter. Had a few Long Fin to 50 lbs as well and 3 Mahi and than headed back in around 2:00pm. Beautiful morning in the Canyons and a nice ride home in the afternoon.
