Default Neah Bay Trip

Headed out to Neah Bay for 4 days earlier this month and just got some pics back from my buddy who is an accomplished photographer.

The first 2 days were just amazing weather for out there..Sunny and hot the first day and flat calm both days. For those of you familair with this area with this area you will know how rare that is. Halibut fishing was great on the Candian side of Swiftsure Bank..Easy limits with fish to 50 pounds.

Had a bit of a tough time getting on the desirable salmon species with so many pinks around but we finally located them at Table Top on the 3rd day and slammed the big silvers and even took 2 nice Kings. By then the weather had collapsed into 6 foot swells with 3 feet of chop on top and steady rain. Thus no pics of the salmon fishing..

I have been fishing out there for about 15 years and the first 2 days this year rank in the top 3-4 days all time for me up there with regard to weather. As I mentioned, however,we paid for it the last 2 days with poor conditions.

that's a large barge considering it looks like you are fishing in a lake

Yeah..the Halibut spot we fish is right in the outbound traffic lanes for all the ships leaving Seattle, Tacoma, Vancouver and the refineries for Alaskan crude, very busy area at times..Can be fun/hairy on a foggy day out there. You are about 15 miles offshore...
