Default Judge 36 chopped to homeport

Took delivery of Orion after a 4mo build - have to say it is all I hoped for and more. Bill Judge builds a great boat - all composite, with superb build quality - true yacht standards and a great builder-customer relationship. Has a 425hp Cummins common-rail diesel that yields a 36mph top speed, and a cruise that varies from 24-28kts at roughly 2mpg. 1800rpms brings 18kts and almost 3mpg. Ride is awesome - did the run from the factory to homeport in typical Chesapeake slop and she never shuddered - just drove right through straight and true. Raises fish too - first day out limited on Spanish Mackeral, 2nd day even better - had more Spanish than we cared to keep... Nothing like a 12' beam to keep the lines straight when 4 fish are on at once!

Awesome boat!! I have always admired that hull from its inception originally as a Williams Marine 36, now the Judge 36. Did you opt for the traditional skeg or the modern skeg-less design?

Its the first Judge 36 I've seen with the open pilothouse design - what a great boat you've gotten - best of luck!!

Thanks all - I've been dreaming of a boat like this my whole life and can't believe I actually have her... Insomniac, its a skeg-less hull, which from what I've read gives her more speed, but is supposed to decrease her ability to tack. Seems to track fine to me, and is stable on the hook and trolling, so I'm happy with the design.

Wow! nice boat. My father really enjoys his Judge 27 Downeast. Though he didnt buy his boat from Bill, Everyone at the plant treated my father very well when he had them go over the boat.

Simple elegance. Perfectly at home out for a day of fishing or taking the whole family out for a picnic. Nothing pretentious about it at all.

Jeff, caught the Spanish around buoy 62, east side of channel in 30-40' working bait pods, though a bunch hit when nothing was to be seen on the FF. Silver Clark spoons behind #1 planers at 5.5-6.5kts. Doug, I thought long and hard about the Evans - must have read your posts 100 times. These bay boats are great!
