Steps - The sections in the bottom of the hull in the rear half of the hull where the wetted suface moves inward. They reduce the wetted surface and create some turbulence that reduce hull drag, increasing speed and fuel efficiency.
The up side is that they "release" the hull from the stiction of the water..... The downside is that turning is a riskier proposition at speed, but who is turning a CC at speed other than collision avoidance?? Hull is much more efficient.
That was my guess but I wanted to make sure. Why don't more of the smaller boats do the same thing? Stability? Looks like they could benefit from it also?
stability. the more boat out of the water, the less stable. not really for the faint of heart, or limited of experience. its best left to the big toys.
build pics are always my fav. its truely a 'side' of boating we all dont get to see that often. and build pics of your own boat are sort of like seeing a sonogram for the first time!
I screwed all my pics up. However, Rob is having them take some of mine in rigging now. You might want to bug him to get some shots of yours while they are at it.
Your hull did look great when I was there. Just needs rigging now.
Brett, I will send you some pics of the liner installed today.
Salty dog, pm me your name and I will see what I can do on your 42.I know I have seen at least one ice blue hull . The dark blue one is in assembly. By the way hull number one will be in the water next week. They are installing the genset and electronics now.
Scott comes through again!!! I cant tell you how much I appreciate you taking these pics. Did I tell you that I represent alot of Strip Clubs in central Florida??? I'll take care of you if you are in the Daytona area!!!
