This is a new project that we are working on and it is really impressive & well thought out. It can be rowed, sailed or piloted with an outboard motor. It also functions as a liferaft and the only one I believe that you can actually propel yourself in a specific direction. All the necessary gear such as a sea anchor, exposure canopy, sailing rig (including sail, mast and tiller), and safety equipment are all stowed in large watertight storage compartments in the hull. It is just under 8 feet long, 4.5 feet wide and weighs just under 130 pounds.
that is an interesting idea. liferaft and dingy in one. thanks for sharing. I know there is much testing to be done but can this ever replace the "liferaft in the can" concept.
I think they come in yellow, white and maybe red.
They are made by a company in Portland, ME. I don't have any affiliation with the company- we just do some work for them....
hmmm I may have to look into that I have a brother that can get it for me since they dont ship. may pick up more then one. as far and the lift raft part I would worry about flip over. I never do ocean so it would make a nice raft for the bay.
