Yea shes a beauty. Powered with 16V2000 MTU's. Does almost 50kts WOT, with a cruise of around 40...

Whats also interesting is that they put clear plexiglass in the salon floor under the carpet so that you can see both motors.

Plexiglass, really? How do they dampen the sound? My boat has detroits in it,I would go deaf.

Good googly moogly squiddly!! I would say that Plexi dampens sound by itself.

Did you go to the show? I'm pissed I could not go this year.

How much room was there between the engines and the plexi floor?

No I wasnt at the show unfortunatly. From what I heard, the plexi is like 1" think and there is another 4"-6" to the motor. I dont know how accurate those numbers are though. Both motors have a window above.

Oh, and the boat isnt even finished off. The slaon has liek no furniture and there is no interior in the bow. Its all still wood. (Thats probably why its so d*mn fast...)

The plexi in the salon is bad azz. Much better looking than some dancing marlin in the carpet although I am sure its there somewhere.

My old man did that to his 36 foot 1973 magnum sportbridge but the engines were more in the cockpit behind the sportdeck. That was in 1979 and I was only 4 so not sure if it was loud or not.

Where is your "old mans" boat,I might know it and him. Is it "sheer bliss"?

That boat is owned by MTU and they were using it to test there engines..the plexiglass is there for show..but that is the reason why there is no furniture or anything in the salon.

Randy had this boat at the pirates cove tournament. He was holding court behind the boat one evening and was telling how this boat burned 180 gph at cruise. Damn opec.

This boat was used by MTU as a test boat for the new 16V2000 M93 engines rated at 2400 BHP. They did all sorts of tank testing to validate everything. They are done with it now so the boat is for sale, whoever buys it can pick the interior they want and Jarrett Bay will finish it off. I was a cool project. Yes that is Rob Miltz in the blue jacket.
