Default world's largest marine forklift

Supposedly, this is the world's largest marine forklift, located at Loggerhead Club & Marina in Riviera Beach, FL (formerly Inlet Harbor Marina). This forklfit (and inside dry storage facility) reportedly handles boats up to 46 feet or 52,000 pounds:

Facility looks nice too:

Seeing something like boat up in the air like that is always creepy but the machine is no different than the ones on commercial ports handling 40' containers weighing far more than any boat that length.

Got counterweight?

Nice.

That marina is a few miles down the road from us. Has a great location by the PB Inlet

Everything about that place is a monstrosity though

Nice pics Drifter! That is one nice piece of equipment.

I have to say though, there is no reason to be driving that lift around witha 38-42ftboat at least 10ft off the ground. In one word.......Assinine. Get a spotter.

I work for a company who uses forklifts similiar to the one shown. From what I can tell the life driver is doing everything that he should be. That load looks perfectly stable at its height. Not trying to insult your intelligence if I am coming across that way.

i'd assume its that high so that he can see under the boat. any lower and he wouldn't be able to see at all.

I think I am in heaven.......the ability to dry stack a 42 ft boat is awesome! My marina has what I thought was a large Wiggins....and it looks like a go-cart next to that beast.

Trophy........yes he has it that high so he can see under it. When a boat falls from 10ft, thats major damage plus. When it falls from a couple of feet it is a little different. It is a machine.......and machines fail. Also what happens at 10ft ofheight with a 30,000 lb plus boat and the lift for whatever reason makes a quick stop or locks up. It is hydraulically driven.......

Get a spotter when moving a boat that big.
