Nice pics...I grew up fishing the Salmon river...I'm from the Syracuse, Watertown, Henderson area. Havent been fishing on the Salmon Riv for a couple years...a good year to get back up there seeing it has been so mild. Everytime I go its snowing and 20 degrees.
I love that place.......Many good memories over the past 15 years up there.....I have moved away from the big rivers and now fish the Sandys mostly.......or late season Orwell and Trout brook.....unless they are too dry.......It is amazing how strong those fish are.......I do however release them all as I have heard lots of bad things about the water quality out on the big pond.........I am also impressed with your gear.....to many guys still up there with 40# Surf rods....................Nothing like fighting a king, coho or steelie on a flyrod!!!!!!!!!
Class Act, no we dont eat them everything is released after a photo. To great a fish to just catch once, have caught them up to 22 pounds, so every 8 pounder I release is someone elses 20 pounder.
ThreeVs the forst few fish pictured are right across the river from your shots in Altmar. We fish there but always on the opposite side, alittle tougher to land fish but much less crowded. Today for instance, it was only me and my buddy on one side but about 12 guys on the side your shots came from.
