Default Anyone else have a bunch of work ahead of them??

WORTH EVERY MINUTE OF IT..

engines are out, remainder of deck removed... Boat is shrinkwrapped for the winter with a bigg zipper door to get in and out... Its suprising how well a little bilge heater heats up the whole inside of the boat....

Made the move from a 17' Montauk to the B31, I know I took a picture of them lined up side to side I will try to find it. The montauk's windshield didnt even make it up to the rubrail of the Bert... The montauk was a 77' and I know that I am going to regret selling it...

At least it will keep you out of trouble.

What are you planing on installing for engines or are you just rebuilding the old engines?

Well after 3 years of redoing SeaNile wouldn't it figure that we have a little repair work to do. Week before we were schedule to be pulled, in a pretty windy day a sailboat a few slips down trid to get out. Strond wind and strong tide pinned his boat up against my bow for about two hours. Left a beautiful rub, down to the bare glass, about 18" in length. WTF. Time to start sanding, fairing and painting again. Other than that we had a very quiet year with the boat. Need to adjust the Solo II controls and that's it. Damn sailboat!

Sh*t SeaNile sorry to hear that, Awlgrip? Summer Winds is going to be getting a set of Cummins 6BTA 315hp engines in the next couple of months. The reputation of these hulls speaks for itself and they are largely considered the "best boat ever built" and I am going to stand right by that...

Awlgrip so it's not that big of a deal.

I went with rebuilt 6BTA 300hp Cummins and couldn't be happier. 26.5knt cruise, all day canyon trip on 110-120 gallons. When will you be in the water? Making an appearance at the AC NJ or Montauk rendezvous?

Eh wish I could... I am going to keep my hopes up but there is still a lot of work to be done... Fuel efficency is excellent on these engines. Only other dillema that I have run into is the fact that since mine is a 67' it has the 160gal fuel tank...

Where do you plan on fishing after you are done with all of the work? My longest trip...left at 330am, ran 80 miles, trolled till 330pm and ran home from 83 and took 132 gallons. Any thoughts about adding more fuel while you are at it?

80 Mile trips are going to be about the max for me right now but who knows... I am however looking to take the boat up/down the coast so tank replacement might be something to do now while the floor is up...
