Can't comment on Menzies thought above as this is how a received the picture. Either way it is pretty cool. Too bad the weather wasn't that nice last night. We drove over for a scrub and now have to drive back tomorrow.

However it was taken, that's a breathtaking picture. I was on the Cape for the very first shuttle launch. One of the most incredible things i have ever seen. If you ever get a chance to see a manned launch - GO FOR IT!! The culmination of our technology.

I agree with Hydro. We are heading over to Titusville tonight. Hope it goes. We try to go to every launce we can. It is something you never get tired of. What's amazing is of my 13 year old daughter's gazillion friends, none have been to a launch and it is less than an hour away.
I have a friend who lives on the river and we go hang with him. The feeling when the windows rattle is hard to describe.

Those WB57 are Canberra bombers from the 1st generation of jets. They were originally a British bomber that first flew in 1949. They were an outgrowth of the first British jet fighter, the Meteor. For these, obviously they've been rebuilt extensively and are variants on the reconaissance version with bigger wings. Still amazing that nearly 50 years later this 1st generation technology is taking pictures of most advanced flight system ever . I'd thought the WB57 had been retired, but I guess not.
