I love the room on "the pit" on my new boat. Lots of room to do the Texas Two Step with the Tunas.......I know I am partial but I will never understand the 1, 2 and now 3 big outboards hanging off the back. We had some nice Bluefin on this past weekend that pulled straight down while we were chunking at anchor. How the hell do you guys maneuver them around the outboards especially when they are on a bracket?
Beautiful boats.... I have a close bud running a 35 Triton w/trip Verados, nice boat. Now shopping for a new 35'ish inboard. He's looked at the Hen's a couple times before. Among others, he's had a 32 Blackfin, then a 35 Cabo before a 26 Reg and the Triton. I hope he gets one this time! We miss the overnighters in the canyons, and some of us just aren't doing that in CC's anymore. I fished a 35 a couple times in FL Best of luck with her.
Cut loose the anchor and move the hell around the the boat.

Overnighters in the NE Canyons in a CC are for younger, braver guys than me...........My boat isn't big, but is sure is nice to get out of the elements when needed. The cabin is big enough to get some shut eye for the crew on the way out and myself during the lull in the bite...............
Awsome boat - congrats. I love the Henriques, especially the 35. I looked very hard at the 28 about 3 years ago. I decided on a go-fast CC which better suits my fishing needs since I often fish inshore alone. Seven years now fishing offshore from a CC and never once had a fish lost in the props. Just drop off the anchor line and fight a big fish from the bow while running it down - in forward. Same is true if hooked up while drifting or trolling. Lost many in the running gear on inboard boats. On overnighters, the cabin is the only thing I miss.
Congratulations! Super nice boat. That is indeed how a cockpit should look. I hope you enjoy her in good health and safety.
As for your question: Its all preference. Both have advantages. I much prefer getting off the ball in a CC than having to scramble on the bow during the night. I like being able to quarter the boat while anchored and fish 8 lines across the side than a few off the transom. Fighting a big fish from the bow of a CC with proper toe relief, coming bolsters and gunnel height is very hard to beat. Catching squid / tinkers with 4 big spreader lights on a CC in 360 degree direction is nice. (you are not swinging a net /jigs /killies in between lines/ outriggers etc..). Same for picking mahi- I can chunk tuna/swordfish and still throw a fly to moving mahi around the boat. Same for dropping jigs. In a cc, when the drift is all fuc&*d up (as it always is) you have options-ie.. when the lines run under the boat in an express its more difficult to fish multiple lines. In addition, a hardcore CC SHOULD (not all do) have the motors pretty close to the transom and the motors are mounted high- thus the lower unit is very shallow. It is very easy to maneuver around them-even with short standups. Obviously being able to run to the canyon in 2hrs is nice also- especially if one prefers trolling and daytrips. Well designed CC's have huge insulated fishboxes flush under the deck (no giant coolers necessary). Just to elaborate on a few nice features of a well designed CC.
what do you do when the fish runs forward? send the guy climbing up around your cabin? what if he falls overboard? --I have owned 3 inboards boats, 35, 47, 58 and now run triples on a 36 YF. All boats take a little getting used to Brian. Your new cockpit is sweet and a large sportfish is a thing of beauty. On the nice days I will blow by you on the choppy days and overnight trips I would rather fish with you.
