Random Quote: Give a man a fish and he will have a meal, teach a man to fish and he'll sit in the boat and drink beer all day.
That's not the other half but rather the 0.0001%. 18mil??? Impressive, just imagine his/her net worth.

Just to put it into perspective. Billy Joel just put his house up for sale here for $30.5M. It's located on Centre Island. He says his reason for putting it up for sale is he can't build a dock out back for his boat so he has to keep it accross the bay in Oyster Bay. I guess the guy above has a ways to go.
$18 mill for the house - never mind the land it sits on! Multiple acres in a private community with its own peninsula looking out to the Elizabeth Islands-priceless!

Greg,
Great pictures!
That is some house.....estate....mansion....compound....whateve r??
I thought it was condos or something like that but not a single home...... holy crap!!
I wonder how it would fair in a surge like the 38' hurricane?
They probably already looking into that before they started building.
I guess if you can afford to build a 18 million dollar home you can afford hurricane insurance.
Winn-It is in the 'V' zone flood plain but if you look at the first 2 pics you see a blue 'port-a-jon' construction toilet which is about 7' o so tall. The stone wall behind the john is about 14' high elevating the house out of the projected wave action height during a hurricane. I think the house should do ok flood wise but not sure how it will fair when exposed to 100+ mph winds. Only time will tell.
