Default What I would have if

I did not have what I have & was not an avid overnighter. This is one pretty dayboat. No glitz. No superficial plastic & silly shapes, just a no nonsense practical boat that screams style & character.

Mast & Mallet builds beautiful boats. I was looking at a M&M Rabbit about 12 years ago. It was very similar to the Mathews pictured above. The pics were taken on the Miles a couple weekends ago. The Chesapeake has more than it's share of boats with character.

Vinny, the Elzey is for sale at Composite Yacht, in Trappe. I don't think they're brokering it, but it's been on the hard there for a couple of seasons now.
She's definitely for sale though, around half a mil takes it. Whew, you could probably get a new one for that!

It's a Matthews' 29. It's built on the old Robbins' hull. They bought the molds when Mr.Cecil Robbins gave it up.

I'm with you Doug - nothing more attractive than Bay Built boats - whether it be a Mathews, Elzey, Evans, Williams, Markley, Mast & Mallet, Robbins, Kinnamon, or Judge. Cut from similar cloth - each has there own style!!!

I'd take a Bay Built anyday over a plastic bubble boat!

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Doug, There was a blue hulled Mathews Patriot 29 in my creek a couple of weeks ago with a camera man and at least 2 others aboard. I didn't realize they were shooting 'film' when they crossed my path in the creek.

I was wondering if my motor (ticking along at 800 rpm) messed up their shot with the extra background sound.
Pretty... Looked identical to the one in your photo.
Might even have been the same boat.

Stopped by the Mathews shop last year and soon discovered those boats are too beautiful for sport fishing. Very nice people and awesome boats!
We purchased a 27' Chesapeake from Judge who are located right across the street from Mathews. Very happy with the Judge!

Hey Megabyte, that was me with the Mathews up on Ridout Creek. A friend of mine is filming a series on the Bay for Md Public Television. He shot the pilot on Bob Mathews boat. Once public television picked it up, he shot the remaining footage on my boat. Should air in the spring during Chesapeake Bay Week.

The boat Doug filmed on the Miles belongs to Jeff McGuiness, a minority partner with the Mathews Brothers.

Ahhh... I should have known.
I hope I didn't mess up the shot.

I didn't realize what was happening until you passed in front of me, and I could see the camera man.
We tried to make a quiet exit...

Nice boat. I'd love to see her up close some day.

Hey Sal... prxmid's big brother is only a stones throw up the creek.

She is a Mathews Bros 40 Robbins, and within the next few weeks she will return to her slip with a freshly painted hull... in white.
Beautiful boats.
