Default Getting ready for deer season!!!!

I might skip bow season and wait until it cools down a little. I never really thought about snakes when the sun wasn't out!

That snake is diffenitely a copper mouth rattle mocassian which is in the cobra family!!

that is a timber rattlesnake or sometimes called a canebrake rattlesnake. it is the predominant rattler in louisiana. one bad habit of this kind of rattler is that you almost have to kick it to get it to rattle. doesn't give you much warning at all. these boys can reach 6 feet in length.

Looks like a rattler to me. I agree that it is a canebreak due to the black markings around the tail.
