SeaBob - you don't HAVE to have the SonicHub to get Sirius audio out of the Lowrance setup - any radio with an AuxIn will work. This is the setup I currently have, connected to a Sony marine stereo (the one with the round blue LCD and flip down door for the CD). I control the Sirius channel selection from the HDS and volume from my stereo.

That said, I'm going to get a SonicHub soon when to do all my upcoming mods . Guess I'll have Sony unit for sale soon enough.

Mike,
The boat came with an older Sony, I'm sure it has AUX-IN, but in all honesty, the owner is kind of like me, would rather hear the water lapping on the hull or the engines purring than listening to music, thus a stereo upgrage was not in the equation. So with the Sonic hub, everything is controlled by the HDS-10, plus it has the Ipod dock and, besides me, nobody listens to CDs anymore, so the stereo up top is almost moot.

But I figured there was another way to do this, despite what Glen E and Birdman told me...

In reality, the Sirius module is there for the weather...

Jon,
Just happened to see a thread titled "Re-wire"...now you KNOW that would interest me! I don't drop into the How-to's very often, maybe I should a bit more. I should tell you guys about installing the springline cleats on that Cape Horn...THAT was a treat!!!

Awesome work! That type of wiring job in your photo bucket is simply so beautiful it has to be called art!

Crimp, solder and shrink all connections, use house battery(ies) for everything NOT starting. Use largest batteries feasable.

X2 for Greggs Marine and Wire. Easy to deal with, good prices, and he will absolutely stuff a flat rate box to keep shipping costs down.
