Angry Power Steering Cylinder

I have a power steering problem. When wx is somewhat cold, below 60deg. my PS system is stiff until the engine well warms up! I`ve been told that the grease in the cylinder is hard and softens up from the heat in the engine well (I/O). This cylinder seems to be in a place that causes real problems to replace maybe even an engine pull to get to it. Is there a way to push out the old grease and fill with new? This is a real PITA to deal with. Power steering helps some when it`s cold but not a lot. Any ideas???
