Default Need to find the owner of a Florida boat

There is a boat that showed up in the Marina where I live. It's been there for 2 weeks and hasn't moved. None of the homeowners seem to know who it belongs too. We have some owners who live here only part-time so there is a good chance it belongs to them. However, I don't know how to contact them. Since it's hurricane season we need to be sure it will be attended to in the event something starts coming this way.

Is there a website that I can punch in the FL numbers and find out who owns the boat?
Thanks.

You can start with www.myflorida.com and go from there. I don't know if that website will help you or not. You could also call the county where the registration was issued and they may be able to provide the information.

You/anyone can go to your county tag office with someone's license plate number, fill out a request form, and the tax assessor employee will give you the name and address of the tag owner. I THINK you can do the same in the same office, with a boat registration number - but you have to do it in person because you have to sign the request form.

Default Privacy Act protects owner information

The privacy act in Florida protects the owner's name. I called my county (Gulf) and could not obtain information and was told this information was protected. Maybe the laws have changed since 2006? Anyway, your best bet would be to contact a law enforcement officer. He could obtain the information and contact the owner of the boat directly.

FWC will help you. Give them the boat numbers.

Sometimes even when you find the owner, they refuse to attend to things like attending to a boat in the event of a potential hurricane. Good luck.

Ask the marina to contact him for you.
