Default SeaSwirl 23' Walkaround

Im in the market for a 22' to 25' walkaround boat. I came across a Seaswirl 23' walkaround New for around $52. I never heard of SeaSwirl. Can anyone shed some light on if they are a stand up brand. I thought that was alot for some brand I never heard of. I can get a Grady for that.

thanks.

Used to own a 98 23 WA. They are decent boats - fit and finish is ok, mine was abit pokey with a single 200, they are light for their size and they will pound if the conditions are right, but otherwise it is a good ride. Fishability was good for the boat size, and the cabin was nice for a 2300 series boat. A decent amount of storage. Head to this site for more info;

Look at the Wellcraft 23' Coastal (WA). A much nicer fit/finish and layout, in my opinion.

I had a '03 Seaswirl 2301 with single Yam. 200 HPDI. Perfect setup for that boat. 3 mpg at 30mph cruise and 40ish WOT. Seaswirl makes a great hull, but some of the fit and finish leaves something to be desired, but seems to have improved recently. But overall a good value in my opinion. Great Owner's Group website at http://seastriper.com if you need more info.

I have owned a 2002 Fishhawk for 4 years and I am selling it. (Identical to the Hydrasport 212WA). I have done all kinds of research and everything is pointing back to the Grady Seafarer 226 with a YamF225. If you look around you can get into one in the mid 40's used.

I have thought long about this and realize there are alot of nice boats out there, but to me the most important factor is ride and resale. I believe Grady wins both.

I looked at the Stripers before settling on the 232 Coastal Walk Around... The Wellcraft is closer to an Express than a WA as the side walk ways are sufficient but not huge. I considered the Sailfish but it had no deck space and smaller helm due to larger walk ways. Grady 226 was a close contender but at $80K I could not see the value. Plus the Wellcraft has a nice 8' 8" beam. The Stripers had that full bow pulpit that some may like but another concern of mine was fitting the driveway. Not sure if Seaswirl counts the bow pulpit in their length.

I love my Wellcraft. It rides great and is a wonderful fishing machine.

Also the dealer in San Diego is great to work with. My prior dealer told me shortly after purchase that they no longer work on "trailer boats" so I would have to drive an addition 50 miles to their inland service center... Not good.
