Default Mid America power and boat show. AKA. IX center cleveland boat show.

Any other THT viewers going to be at this show? I've gone the past 4 years and I think that this show needs a makeover. I've seen the same boats and booths with no change for years. When are the dealers going to take a risk and show us consumers some new product? Hell, we may even buy a new boat if we saw a nice new brand. Get this here on Lake Erie a pilothouse boat is ideal. Proof--------every other boat you see leave the harbor is a 27-30 sportcraft or Baha Cruisers pilothouse. But, at the boat show you have one only one choice Baha Cruisers. Oh yeah if you consider Seaswirl's alaska pack a pilothouse that makes a grand total of 2 to look at. This at "America's largest indoor boat show"? Paul

Paul,
I worked the Cleveland show every year from 1978 until 1990. I started downtown at the old convention center when they were still making tanks at the IX center hall. But, your right. The dealers in your area have changed and it seems the GL dealers are just concerened with going larger and larger. I've been in Florida since '91 and the same is happening down here.

You won't see any Sportscrafts at this years show because they are out of business. You won't see Parkers pilothouse because I don't think you have a dealer in the area since the company I use to work for shut down in '92.

Talk to Norm Shultz, the president of LEMTA who puts the show on. Tell him your concerns. If he hasn't changed since I knew him well, he'll listen. Afterall, there number one concern is gate proceeds and number count so if there are more like you, they will want to know.
