Default Finalizing my Maine vacation in Boothbay and now...

I'm looking for a recommendation of a local fishing guide in this area. Or, if any locals in the BB area are heading out on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and would like the additional company of a Chesapeake native for a few hours of fishing, please lety me know this as well.

I won't be able to partake in a 8-10 hr fishing trip as my wife and son will be in Maine as well (this is a family vacation after all) but I should be able to get permission to fish for 4-6 hrs anyway. But, like I said, the name and telephone# of a local guide would be much appreciated or to any local who has a boat and an extra fishing spot available.

And thanks to all who provided assistance in our planning of this vacation throught THT in the following thread, especially to Mark (Odonalone):

Thanks
Chris

Have fun!

Boothbay is a bit further north than my typical stomping grounds along the Maine coast, but try George Harris:

You are a few miles noth of my stomping grounds as well. If you don't mind a quick jaunt 15 miles south I would highly recommend:

Peter and Gordon are great guys (although they have yet to buy a boat from us!) - the kind of people you can really enjoy on the water - intelligent, interesting, informative, modest.

I believe also that you can do a two boat trip and the wife and kids can do a lighthouse and bald eagle tour of the Kennebec River - Really beautiful. Both men are educators and can help your family to understand as well as enjoy that great river and its wildlife and history.

Other ideas while you are in Boothbay:

Hope that you have a nice vacation and that the weather is good. Welcome to Maine.

Second the Peter and Gordon thing. Codfisher and I as well as Dale (Miss Teak) and his brother did a trip with them 2 years ago. They can mix it up AND involve the rest of your party.

Jay, At least they are in alloy boats.

Chris - I was just up there and there are many guides in the area. Just stop by any local Inn or swing by the Marinas. I do remember seeing several posted and also in the info packets in the lobby.
