Sale is conditional on the dealer making me a decent offer on my trade in, so won't know for sure until Monday.
Anyway, looks like I got a 2007 Nauticstar 2000 Offshore, with T-Top, Suzuki 150 4-stroke, and aluminum dual axle Wesco trailer. Small curtain package, coaming pads, swim platform, jump seats and front pad.
Boat show price of just under $29K. I think I did pretty good, got them to include a portajon and free install of any electronics I get. Figured I left them a little room to offer a touch more for my trade.
Price was maybe a touch cheaper than the new Tidewater 216 with F150, Pioneer 197 with F150, or McKee 196 with F-150, and boat is noticably larger (than the Pioneer and the McKee, the Tidewater is similar in size). Especially liked having a decent sized console for the portajon, which will make my passengers happy. Live well looks to be a good size as well
From the reviews I've read, it is a decent boat with a super engine, and I have no idea as to whether or not Wesco is a good trailer. Dealer has a very good rep on this board.
Just having 1st day jitters and wanted to see if it looked like I actually did OK on the deal. Anything I should inspect closely when I go to pick it up in a couple weeks (after deal is finally final and my electronics get installed).
Can I wait on trim tabs until next year, since I will probably just be lake running the rest of this year?
This is going to be a long weekend waiting to see if the deal is done.

Despite the spammer who was on here recently whooping it up about these, I stopped at Chatlee a few weeks ago (I live down the street from them) when they had one parked out front and they look like some really nice boats. Great size boat and has the porta-potty in the console. I was impressed. I don't know the value, but 29k sounds good...hope you get it and this is THT so WE WILL NEED PICS!

Congratulations! I've always thought the NauticStar offshore boats looked nice. The 22 footer seems good as well. I pulled the trigger at the show also. Put a deposit on a Key West 196 Bay Reef with a Yamaha F150. The deal is contingent on a lake trial to happen this week.
If you bought the model actually at the show make certain the leaning post seat is secure. At some point during the show the seat became detached from the hinge. I noticed all the screws hanging down, took a closer look, saw how it'd seperated.
$29K for that is a pretty decent price. I looked at a 2006 model priced ~$31K 2 months ago.
I ended up with a Seap Pro 206CC from the same place.
Congratulations!
Im sure it's great handling boat, looks nice too, but until I saw the top view with that permanent baitwell ? I'm not sure I like the layout. If I were to have one of my buddies fishing along with me in the back.. we might as well start slow dancing. I have looked at sailfish and polar CC as well and it seems that with a euro style transom and a built in baitwell which seem to be popular ,your getting the room of a 17 ft boat. just my opinion to the boat designers out there. I have a 22 Grady seafarer now and want to downsize to a 20 - 21 CC. I can't seem to find a boat that,s in the low 30k range not with a conventional transom and no perm baitwell. I'm not complaining but just explaining... seatrial the boat with a friend and pretend you got multiple hookups and then make the decision.
good luck
ps. I do like the parker 21 cc but not 100% on the skiffy part
I am usually not chasing huge fish, and do about as much drift fishing as I do trolling, so having the baitwell/livewell there in the middle of the back works for me. I usually use them to hold fish until I decide it's time to ice them instead of bait, so it is a decent size and a good location back there. Plus I am usually only fishing with one other person. It was actually the nice size console for a portapottie that was one of the deciding factors, usually I would have had to gone up to a 21' boat for that feature. Basically, it is a little shorter version of a 21' class boat, since it has the 8'6" beam, the center livewell, high freeboard, and the big console. The T-top seemed very sturdy as well.
Very similar over all to the Sea Pro 206 and Kencraft 210, but had a few differences that I liked. A lot like a slightly smaller version of the Seaswirl 2101.
I also like all the room that the Parkers have (as well as their commercial look), but was never really thrilled with how shallow their freeboard seemed on the 18 and the 21, felt almost like bayboats. For that style boat, I liked the higher freeboard of the Maycrafts.

Once you get the boat, take a chisel and scrape the gelcoat along the side the length of the boat. That first scratch is the tough one, but once you get it out of your system, the more you'll be able to enjoy the boat. Just kidding, sort of.
Nice boat. I rode on a Nautic Star 22 bay boat and I thought it was a lot of boat (especially for the money).

Sounds like the Sea Hunt 202 or 212 could work for you at that price.

Exactly! I still look at my 1st scratch and cringe. It does take the pressure off!
