Default El Pescador Boats?

Anyone ever hear of El Pescador boats. It is not the flats boat form TX but a panga style CC from Florida. There is a person close by that is selling one. I cannot find any information other than it is from FLA. Thanks again.

the ones sold in texas are also a panga style center console. my opinion is that they have a nice big v in the front but flatten out too quickly in the back and make for a very painful ride. i rode in one for 40 miles and it was quite painful

I agree with trashcan. I have been in several of these boats with guides here on the TX coast and they will beat the fillings out of your teeth. The only time that I enjoyed the boat is stopped because they do fish very well.

It will beat you up more than a deep V hull for sure. I have a Guatemalan made boat of that design. These are made with fuel economy and fishability in mind. A 25 foot skiff will plane with a 40 hp motor (I have a 90 on mine). I just go slower than I could with my deep V. I had it in 4-6 foot chop on the maiden voyage coming home from Porto Barrios. It was slow but it handled.

Thanks. I liked the way it rode with the I/O. Only problem is that it was flat calm.

like i said earlier, an El Pescador is a PANGA STYLE boat. It has a very noticable raised V-hull in the front and flattens out in the back to make it a shallow running boat. A panga boat originated from Mexico and is not known for its shallow drafting capabilities, but however its side profile is very noticable and that is why El Pescador boats are called PANGA STYLE (as the author of this thread clearly stated)

dont get me wrong the pescador looks a fine craft

but i think the basic requirements for a boat to be panga like
must have a delta pad
must have gunwale flotation
must be a narrow beam to length ratio

the angler panga has similar bow hight to side height, looking at the side, as do a lot of pangas
and is not a panga pre-requisite
the pescador floats in 6" the panga 22' floats in 8"
cheers
jack
