I got a pair of 2000 Ficht 200s. No history of any problems. Unfortunately, they have been sitting on the trailer for about 6 weeks. Went out to run them on the hose at least. No problem with the first one. On the other one, when I turned on the key the warning lights cycled normally, then three came back on: no oil, hot and check engine. The low oil did not come back on. I could not crank the engine. I assume because of the lights. It has oil and was not hot. I thought maybe the oil needed to be primed, so I tried that but it was firm.
sounds like your emm is bad. those 3 warnings are controlled by the emm. contact DFI tech for getting the emm rebuilt.. not cheap, as they are the only ones in the biz..
good luck SP
You can get some "upfront" help from www.boatsetup.com. Some really knowledgeable Ficht guys there that can give you some insight, especially "Rowdy", "John from Illinois", and "Bill Grannis". These guys know the Ficht inside out having serviced more of them than most Ficht mechanics. Of course there is no substitute for a certified Ficht mechanic to take your engine to for a hands on evaluation, but I always felt better when I had some idea of what was going on before taking it to the mechanic.
Good luck.

a trained tech can plug in to the engine computer and get problem codes out of the computer to determine what the problem(s) is.
You said the engines sat for 6 weeks, it could be simply condensation in the sensors causing the lights to come on, hope that's it.
Good luck
LDog - you may consider posting on www.screamandfly.com as well. Go to the Technical Discussion forum. I've gotten a lot of help on my 150 Ficht there.
Also, I have pulled the codes without the dealer software on my 150. Assuming you can do this with a 200, it is very easy. Do you have the service manual? My manual covers the 150,175, and I'll be glad to send you the info, I would be afraid the codes, etc. might be different for the 200. Good luck!!
Thanks for the advice guys. I will try the condensation possibility. It was covered by a plastice tarp which was over the vents in the cover. I am leaving the cover off today in the sun, will put back on lose tonight, take off again tomorrow and try it late in the afternoon. Probably a long shot, but worth a try.
FishBut, thanks for your offer, but if it is not something simple like the condensation or a sensor or swith I can tap on to free, then I will take it in to my Ficht tech.
yes the emm will sometimes go out suddenly. one trick that you can do is to turn the key on adn listen for the fuel pump to shut off and then try tapping the emm "Lightly" with a rubber malletadn listen for the fuel pump to turn on again. This checks to see whether the emm is resetting itself. more then likely you have a emm that has had a component go bad and is putting stray voltage onto the circuit board resulting in your false codes..
Good luck

Fishbut,
Could you send me the pages from the service manual on getting the codes. I have a 2001 150 FICHT no problems but would like to have for my own record.
THanks,
Pete
Pete - no problem. Just give me a fax number and I'll get it to you. Now keep in mind my manual is for a 2000 model and your motor is a 2001. Could be some differences.
It could be the systemcheck gauge. Switch the gauges for the 2 motors and see what happens. If the problem switches motors it is the gauge. If it stays on the same one I would say ecu/emm and you should take it to a dealer and get it tested.
