Not tring to make THT a truck forum but I know a lot of you have pickups to tow your boats. Does anyone have one of the Bedrug liners that seem to be the rage lately. My dealer is pushing these instead of a sprayed in liner such as the Rhino liner. He offers both but insists that a lot of people are going to them {I have not seen one in the back of a truck}.
Anyone have any info on durability?
Hammerhead linings are the new wave. go on clear or in any color you want. The company did military applications only before branching out into this field. Check them out, good product.
I had one in a Lightning Ijust sold.Looks great .Good fit.Tonneau cover a must.Definitly not for industrial use,but very nice for light duty and appearance.
I bit the bullet and had a Rhino Liner installed on my tow truck (2006 Chev 1/2). It's a work truck that's only used to tow my skiff with (23,000 so far since Sept). Best decision I could have made. Even though it sits at the ramp day after day and is also used to haul everything under the sun if still looks great. I don't know anything about what your dealer is touting but it would have to be pretty good to beat the Rhino...

That is the decision I am having to make. I am putting a Tonneau cover on it and 80% of what I haul is clean stuff, but when I have a cooler leak or spill something I don't want to worry about it. I like the idea of the Bedrug because I will have to climb in from time to time and I think my knees will thank me.
This has very little to do with your point, however (dammit there's that word again! ),
A couple of years ago I saw a new F150 in the parking lot of the local Wally World, and every inch of the metal surface had been sprayed with Rhino lining (or somehting similar). Not some shadetree Bubba job, but very, very clean. Not sure I would do it, but it sure had a unique look, and dings are a thing of the past!

I have a Dodge quad cab with a tonneau cover and a bedrug. I love the bedrug. Granted I don't carry dirty or greasy stuff around but if I did the bed rug comes out easy enough to clean let dry and put back in. I've had it for about two years now and no problems. Another benefit for me is that my truck is charcoal gray and I have a gray headliner on the tonneau cover, the bed rug is gray... open up my tonneau cover and it looks like a huge trunk!! My bedrug cost about $25 more than it would have cost me to have my bed sprayed. My brother had a truck like mine with a sprayed liner, he flipped the truck and has a bedrug in the replacement. Get the rug!!!
I've had the BedRug for just over 3 years now. It still looks new. I've spilled oil, gas, mud, and a ton of other stuff in it with no problems. My son and I even do some "truck camping". Having a padded bed is much better than sleeping on the ground. And yes, your knees will thanks you everytime you have to crawl in and out of the truck bed.
Bedrugs are the way to go. I've used them for years and years and they've been great. I put a spray in in the existing truck and hate it. Spoil yourself with the rug and you'll never go back.
Did you guys install the Bedrug yourself or have it done? If DYI is it a pain? I found the BR online for $ 285.00 with free shipping and that is a lot less than the Spray In Liners. The dealer wants almost $400.00 for the BR installed. Thanks for all the replys.

i work at a truck accessories store and install these all the time, there is nothing hard about it its peel and stick just make sure where the 3m tape sticks is clean, we wipe with denatured alchohol.
btw we do the rhino linings too, we sell about 20 rhinos to one bed rug. it depends on what you will be using it for whether it is right for you or not. if i had a tonneau i would no doubt get a bed rug, they are very nice...

Its easy to install...I was going to install mine when O put it in the truck 3 years ago but never did..I layed it in the back of the truck when I bought it and I have still not bothered to install it.....it works just fine
