RE: Scout 26 Abaco I own a 2001 Abaco 280, and here are my observations:
Good fit and finish, and the boat is sturdy. Smallish cabin, but functional and laid out well. The head compartment is, shall we say, tight for someone my size--6'1" 230 lbs.
The mid-berth bunk is great for storage and/or kid's bed; no way an average-sized adult can sleep in there. HUGE lazarette....you can easlily sit and access all equipment that is placed there--batteries, galvanic isolator, and battery charger. The freshwater holding tank and head holding tank are behind panels on each side of the lazarette....also easily accessed. I have my valise life raft stored there and it barely takes up any space. The cockpit is very large for a boat this size....easy for 3 grown men to maneuver around while fighting a fish.
The ride is good for a boat it's size; it is also dry. I like the design of the engine bracket and full transom......it would be difficult to take water over the back unless you are backing down aggressively.
The lines of the boat are more like a larger express sportfisher, with the shear and tumblehome....I have had many compliments on her looks.
She's for sale, but only because I just can't shake the desire for the smell of diesel exhaust and that rumble.....that is my addiction.
