Default Yamaha F225 Fuel Filter

How does it come off the engine ? Looks like a retaining collar unscrews allowing the removal of the filter. There is a "locking bracket" that does not allow the collar to unscrew.

You need to remove the bolts and take the entire unit off the bracket then you can remove the ring and filter.

I believe there will be a total of 4 bolts which need to be romoved. 2 will attach the bracket to the block and 2 will be on top of the bracket once it's off the block.

Does anything have to be removed to access the bolts ? There is very little clearance to get to the bolts

You can also loosen the retaining collar and unscrew the filter top and then remove the filter. Only one bolt to loosen. It's awkward, but it works. I've done it four times.

Found it in the owner's manual. Nothing in the Service Manual, which so far has been useless

I couldn't agree more! Foolishly bought the official Service Manual from Yamaha on-line for a king's ransom, and cover-to-cover, there's nothing whatsoevercited anywhere asto the 'part number' for the standard fuel filter element! Nothing! Unbelieveable!

You'd think after payingthem $15,000 per motor and another $40 for the official Service Manual, patrrons wouldn't haveto spend hoursor days researching things to eventually discoverhttp://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard...me/1/home.aspxjust to geta stinking part number out of 'em! Just 'ridiculous'!

What's the point of the flippin' manual Yamaha? Can you say . . . "REFUND&quot

This should be correct.

As far as part numbers, go to the yamaha web site & look them up. you will need your model number.
