The 29 is a new model. I believe it came out in '05. Good riding compared to what? It's heavy with 23* deadrise and ample beam. Has the basics but I have never ridden on one.

The 2006 HS 2900VX is new this year. It's an express style while in previous years they were walk arounds. Me, I prefer the express, just enough room to walk forward although not as easy as a walk around. But the big difference is if you start taking spray, the express will stay dry (curtains up) while a walk around will funnel all that water to the cockpit. The ride is excellent. Took me a while to figure out the tab and trim settings but once you got the sweet spot, she rides very well with the 23 degrees deadrise.

I was down to the Grady White Marlin 300, Wellcraft Coastal 290 and this boat. The GW as way more expensive. The Wellcraft and HS were closer in price with the HS being more about fishing and the coastal more about cruising. Plus the HS gives you a good range with the 300 gallon tank. If you are buying the boat for fishing, 2900VX you can't go wrong. I love the boat and have already had it out to canyons twice (80 nm each way).

If you have anymore questions, I'll be glad to answer them.

The ride of the new 29VX express is far superior to the older 28 Walkaround. And the new 29 CC rides as well as the HS 33 CC

there is a new one where I keep my boat and the owner said he felt the 29 CC rode better than the HS 33 CC. he had fairly flat seas one day last month and cruised home at 52 mph with F250s. nice looking boat
