Good or Bad?..200o Evinrude Ram Fich 200HP

Looking at this engine as well on a 23 hydrasport sea horse W/A. i heard they either blew up or not. If they didn't blow, heard they were a pretty good engine. Any comments would be greatly appreciated,

Just watch what year engine you get.

don't buy either the boat of the motor!! owned same model in center... nothing worse then having to be towed home by a friends jet ski.

I bought a pair of 2000 150's for ten grand installed in the demise of omc . They ran great for a couple years then they seemed to just start having one small problem after the next. My suggestion is NO.

I had a 1999 - 200hp ficht.
Ran very well until recently.
Had over 1500+ hours on it and just blew a computer.
I thought about the cost of replacement and reliability of the whole motor. I decided to now re-power.

I now have a e-tec 225hp. Ran it last weekend. Worked very nicely. Alot of torque out of the hole. Its also saving me a little bit of gas on minimum planning speed.
