Default Arch with a hardtop? Anyone???

I currently own a 24' project and i have an aluminum arch. I have cut the arch to the right size for the boat and will be welding it up soon. I have always wanted to put a hardtop on it instead of the regular canvas top. Now its the time to deside because the welder can put the tabs for the hardtop or leave it as it is for the canvas.

I really would like to build a small, lightweight hardtop for it. I have looked all over the web and never found anything. I think i have even posted this question here before with no answer.

Does anyone have a picture of a boat sporting an arch with hardtop???? Or know a website were i could find one The only one i found is runaway boats and they dont have many pics and its not really a hardtop.

I would even pay for a pic

I am looking to do the same thing on my 2555 pusuit. Support a hard top in the back with an already exsisting arch and connect the top to the boat in the front..... Is This correct?

Well, yea. Sort of. For example, you see this arch here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

About the same thing but instead of the top being frames, it would be a one piece fiberglass. Maybe out of carbon fiber and cored with kledgecell.

But am just having a very hard time trying to find a picture of what i want. I would like to see it first before i go ahead and spend the $ on experimental material. Maybe after i see it i wont like it anymore and give up the idea. You know....

Thanks................

I believe I did what you are proposing two years ago. I have a 1978 23' SeaCraft Sceptre (the cuddy/express layout, not a center console). I had to replace an aging bimini top with 3-sided enclosure. Decided to go with a molded glass hardtop, tied into the existing radar arch aft, with new 3-sided enclosure (ez2cy on the front panels, Strataglass on the sides).

My computer skills are pathetic and I have no idea how to post pictures here or even create a link to pictures on another site. However, another member was kind enough to post pictures of my boat on the www.classicseacraft.com website. They are contained in the "SeaCraft Gallery" section, under Chris Downey's 23'.

It is still a bit of a work in progress. Hope this helps - feel free to ask me any questions.

Composite Yacht did something like what you describe not long ago to a Formula Go-Fast Cruiser.
They're in the marine product showcase.

Are you looking to buy one already made, build one yourself or, someone to build it for you?
