Default HS Vector 2250 / Suzuki DF225 Prop Help

I dropped off my HS 2250 vector w/a today for install of new Suzy 225 four stroke. My dealer is used to servicing small, inshore boats (16-18 foot aluminum, typically), so I'm not confident that he has much experience with prop selection. Given my geography, that's a fact of life.

Would appreciate input into what prop I should use.

My hull specs are--

22', 4"
22 degree deadrise
Total est. weight = 3,250 for the hull + 600 motor +700 fuel +1,000 crew + 400 gear/ice/beer = 5950 lbs.

Main concern is rough water performance, fuel economy at cruise. Top end speed really doesn't concern me much in relation to the first two criteria.

I'm replacing a 200 hp Johnson that was outfitted with a SS 4 blade Renegade. I wish I could say what diameter/pitch that was, but don't have it immediately at hand.

Help Please.

I've got the Suzi DF225 on the back of my boat - You are gonna LOVE that engine. My boat is a 22ft x 7ft bottom, welded aluminum, 18deg V w/Hardtop (Motion Marine Mojet LXV). The estimated weight is very simular to your boat. I have a 3x16x23 prop on now and RPM's are right in the middle of the suggested range of 5-6K. Bottom line is that you will probably have to try a few props to hit the middle of the suggested RPM range (the dealer should be able to work with you on it).

Yooper. I have the same boat and still use the 200 Evinrude. I have a 15x17 and that's the right pitch for mine. I tried out a 15x15 SS prop this spring and it was too low on pitch...too many RPM's. Not sure how your extra 25 horses or 4 stroke RPM's factor in, but I think 15X17 would be a good starting point.

Those Suzukis can swing a 16" diameter wheel and that's what you'll want.

Probably the 16 x 21.5, part number 99105-00800-215.

Thanks guys. That gives me a good reference point to compare against what the dealer recommends. Hopefully be on the water by next weekend.
