Default boat transportation

I need help finding a reputable company to ship a boat from near Pensacola, Florida to Ocean City, Maryland. It is a 29 Center Console with a 9.6 beam and a t top. Please advise any shipping companies you would highly recommend that are affordable. Thanks.

You can try www.uship.com. You post what you want to ship and then people will bid. Or, you can do a search for marine transportation.

Do a Google search on Boat Transport or boat moving. Many of these are expeditors. I used "Speciality Shipping" and the boat mover was an independant contractor with a Ford 750 and a hydraulic trailer capable of 18,000 lbs and 35 feet long. It was picked up in Michigan and delivered to Pensacola Ship Marine Complex 3 days later. They could have launched it with the trailer, but I wanted it cleaned and waxed before launch. The transporter had 250K insurance, 1 million liability, and was bonded etc. He kept in touch at least once a day and I was very satisfied. Cost was about $1.25 a mile--but this was slightly over 3 years ago. I would figure on at least $2 a mile. A friend had a boat delivered to Pensacola from Maryland this week and it was about $2200. Look for a transporter which is going that way empty. Unfortunately this is not the best time of the year for this type of transport--most of the traffic is going North.

I doubt anyone is going MT North from Florida this time of the year.

Do your homework when you pick a Trucker. Make sure he has a DOT and ICC number then check his history here: safersys.org

This company was very good for me, 28', 9'6" beam. Getting ready to send them to Maryland from South Carolina for another boat. Ask for Rick.
