Default 1992 Hydra-Sports 2000CC opinions?

Brand new to forum, been sneaking peaks though.

I'm looking at a 1992 Hydra-Sports 2000cc w/ a Johnson 200hp 2-stroke, T-top, etc. I believe it's the Vector series with the Kevlar hull.

Is there anything I should look for on this particular boat or any opinions about this boat?

I plan to do some intracoastal, river and off-shore fishing and recreational boating. Probably would not go off-shore in anything more than 2 to 3 foot seas.

Any feedback is appreciated as this is my first boat other than a canoe.

Thanks!

I had several friends in NFL that ran this specific boat. Back then they were extremely satisfied and how well the ride was. With that set up eng it is a 50+ mph (I think with the 225 it was 55mph) boat and a great offshore boat. We used to go out to 35/42 miles off Jax in N FL. and 2/4 was not a worry. The tall gunnels were great too. I would definitely have a survey done and research if any one has problems with the hull, stringers and transom from those years. I moved to SFL and have not been in touch with old buddies so I do not know how well they held up. Down here I rarely see one some 25’s but hardly any 20 maybe 1 or 2. In N FL (jax) these were very common boat especially since they gave them away during the Jax King Fish tournaments.

Thanks....it doesn't help to be anal when researching boats. I figure if I research them enough I'll make the right decision....Right! Thanks again.

ncbuilder, I have a 94 with the same setup and get about 36-37kts at 5400 rpm. I think the boat is all you can get out of twenty feet. I ran 43 mi offshore last weekend(102 total mis) and burned 68 gals of fuel. Big fishbox too. E-mail me if you have specific questions.

NC, I think I know the boat in question, that is a good hull and reliable power. Still have it surveyed and know that the painted trailer will dissolve in the saltwater.
