Default Longest lasting A/T Truck Tires?

I have a lifted 1500 Chevy Silverado with 315/75/16... (35"s). I have Pro Comp M/T that are worned down to nothing and I'm on the hunt for some new rubber. I have heard good things about the BFG A/Ts. Looking for tires that are going to last a long time. Any ideas? Thanks

I have burned through BFG AT's in both 32 and 33s on my old Jeep. They lasted a couple years of heavy use on and off road without any issues. Plenty of mileage for the price. I also had the 33 MT's but they were noisy and rough on the road and the only noticable improvement was in the snow. I put the new Michelin all terrain all weather somethings on my wife's Explorer and we have been very happy with the highway ride as well as rain/snow/ice traction.

I had a set of 33 inch BFG AT's on a Jeep Wrangler and got over 65K miles on them. I have a set on my new RAM... they are great tires.

Toyo all the way. Some of their new stuff is simply amazing. BFG are too loud and rough for me!

I love the BFG AT's. Make sure you get a LT & not P rating. The treads are deeper, more plys as well. Love you long time.

Look at the sticker on new tires when you are shopping for a new set. Buried somewhere on there is the DOT treadwear rating. A higher number is better. I thing the range is something like 200 to 700. I just put a set of Cooper A/T's on my 4x4 tahoe and they had a 550 rating. I have found that brand name doesn't necessarily mean good tires.

Toyo Open Country ATs. My wifes Blazer has them and they have about 55K on them now. They'll probably go another 5-6K before next Fall when she'll get new ones.

My friend has a 2000 GMC 1500 and has had three sets of the Toyos. Hes gotten over 60 on each set.

I used to run BFGs on my vehicles and they always went more than 50K. I decided to try the Toyos on my friends reccomendation.

In my experience the Toyos are quieter and smoother than the BFGs, and they perform just as well off-road as the BFGs. I won't be going back to the BFGs.

I have BFG AT's & will be trying something else next time around. The tread does not self clean and they are like slick donuts in the mud. They are fine on the road & at the boat ramp, but I want a tire that is a little more offroad friendly.

BFG A/T K/O Quiet, long lasting tread. Good all around tire for firm terrain and highway and the best I've seen for boat ramps. I'd go a different route if I was into mud or sand...

I have the BFG's on my 2004 H2. They have 40,000 highway miles and still look good. Maybe in another 10-15,000 I will need a new set. The H2 curb weight is around 6000 pounds. I think they have held up very good.

Always like Michelins, but currently have Goodyear ATS that have 70K miles on them.

I have a Dodge Ram 2500 with the cummins. Had 3 sets of Dunlop Radial Rovers got about 30K per. Now have BFG ATs in 285/75 R16. So far it looks like I will get about twice the mileage out of this set. They are also much better on the beach. Don't like the fact that they are owned by Michelin, may tried Goodyears next.

I had a set of BFG All Terrain TA KO LT's on my Dodge. They were great in wet/snow and off road...they wore pretty well but I had problems with the side walls cracking. Switched back to Michelin's on my Tundra 4 X 4...they are quieter on the road and seem to be wearing very well at least here in the Northeast. Some of the tires depending on the compound used wear better in warmer climates. Might try the TOYO's next time though...I have a friend who put them on his Tacoma and he's happy with them.

Most everyone that I know around here that have 1500 Z71's have the Coopers. Out of all the people that I know that have them, I have not heard anything negative.

Oh, another point for Toyo....The local place where I get my tires, Bill So and So tires (name is not important), the owner comes up while I am getting the tires balanced and mounted, WITH THE EXACT SAME TIRE ON HIS TRUCK. I felt a lot less Buyer's Remorse then!

Another vote for BFG AT's, I'm currently running them on my Jeep and I've had them in the past on a full size Chebby. I ran Cooper ST's for a while on a GMC K1500 and they were nice in every condition. The problem is they're more expensive the BFG's anymore. A little less aggressive is the BFG Long Trail (more of a highway tire), my parents ran those on a Tahoe for 56K miles.

You could check out Interco's TrXus MT's, yea Swamper, but not over aggressive like the traditional Swamper. They are a modified MT pattern with siping. They probably won't last as long as BFG's but they cost less too. Also Cooper's new STT has a new tread pattern and is now siped, another option.
