I'll say this, on the 1st day of the Nationals in Fort Pierce we got a late start in a 34 Fountain with trip 275 Verados and were catching(passing) up to the pack heading north. After numerous miles we were running behind a 36 Yellowfin and my guess is they were doing 50-51, we were running 52-54. Maybe they did it to show off, but the two guys were sitting on the leaning post and the driver had his foot on the steering wheel. However, the entire time we were catching up and then passing them we commented on how well the bow stayed down and it seemed to stay in the water better than the fountain.
This isn't a slight on the Fountain either as it wasn't really that rough and we were not flying the boat as the props were staying in the water with no problem, but the Yellowfin definitely had the appearance of running better.
Maybe the grass is just always greener, becuase even when it is sloppy, other boats typically look like the are running pretty good relative to the pounding you may be taking in your own!

Do your self justice! Take both out for a seatrial and then make an educated decision based on your own experience.. I don't think anyone who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars on a Contender or Yellowfin will be impartial about the other boats performance. Maybe I'm wrong, but you know what is said about opinions! Goodluck!

Took a spin on this 36 with quad 275's at the Miami show. 65 on the gps and we were skipping a few wakes in the process. Nice ride. Also been on a 36 Contender with triple 275's, just as nice. Not as fast, small edge to the Yellowfin's ride. How can you go wrong with either boat? (throw the 34 Fountain in there too) Don't see how you can complain about any of the big CC's "rides". The fuel bills are another story.

YELLOWFIN wins. Spent a decent amount of time tournament fishing on one last season up in the Northeast and all I can say is wow. The ride is unreal take one out and see for yourself. I also feel the 38 Carolina Skiff is as simple as it gets and is very fuel efficient, can't beat a flat bottom.
