Default Determining dealer ethics?

After finding a possible good deal on a never used 01 225 FICHT, i just had one buddy tell me of a bad experience with the same dealer. As i am sure that there are two sides to the story, how can i find out more about this dealer? i am new to the area and mainly fish the salty stuff (6+ hours away) so i will probably not meet many more people with experience with this dealer. Thanks.

Someone here may have knowledge of your dealer. By the way, do you ever boat/fish Tahoe?

The dealer is Sierra Sport and Marine in Sparks. My buddy who made the complaint did not buy anything from them, he just had some service work done by them. As to the fishing, i have only fished Tahoe a couple of times this year. Caught a nice Makinaw and my buddy had his pole snapped by one. i hear they have a good Kokanee (sp?) fishery as well.

Thanks for the Tahoe news. I'm considering the Carson Valley as a home someday. How do you like the area?I just got off the ocean, man it was rough. Did see a 40#+-salmon boated. None for me,just glad when son and I got back inside.

Hey coolbreeze. Gardnerville is great, except for the wind. There is great flyfishing nearby, very clean air, nice people, etc. A ways from the ocean, though.

Good to hear a positive response. Good luck with your motor. Did you check Ed's for a price comparison?

Hey coolbreeze. i assume you are talking about Ed Young up at Lake Tahoe Marine. i did talk to him and he gave me a pretty standard price. He sounds like a good guy, but he was leary about installing a motor on a boat that was converted from a ib/ob to a bracketed outboard. i may talk to him later this week since he is so well known.

No, I was talking about Ed's Marine. At the top of this page, click on sponsors and you'll find 'em.
