Default Simple aluminum question

Would like the experts' opinions about their "best" protectant for anodized aluminum (ie hardtop frame) and experience over time, application techniques, etc. Got a new ride and would like to avoid the pitting I always developed over time on previous boats. Saltwater use; boat kept on outdoor dry rack.

Thanks a lot for your input about a very mundane topic.

Rupp makes a cleaner wax, I think it's called Rupp Oil, that's pretty nice.

At our top company we recommend Rupp's Aluma Guard, you wipe it on with a wet rag and thats pretty much it.Woody wax works too, but it's a little more labor intensive.

woody works perfect with a pair of cotton mesh gloves that woody sells for 3 bucks - wet your glove with 3 squirts of the wax and do your entire pipe system top in 5 minutes just by "grabbing"

Im in the Aluminum boat biz. I sell atolt of them to guy heading to the salt. Not to mention all the boats I owned before were aluminum and I only used them in salt. The best thing to seal aluminum with is without question Sharkhide. Not even slightly noticable. Soaks right in to the aluminum and seals it. Wipe on with a 100% cotton cloth. If you really want to see how well it works pick a part that is'nt visable and put a small piece of tape there. After your done with the Sharkhide peel of the tape. USe for a season and take a look where the tape was.

Good luck, Foulhook
