Default Grady 265 Express Leaning to one side

Got the new to me boat in the water this weekend..... runs fine... it is going to take some getting used to driving as many of you who own this boat say.... it almost fells like it is crabbing across the water.... and very very very very trim tab and motor trim sensitive....
My question is that it leans to one side almost 2 inches.
The boat is full of fuel (250 gallons) and minimal water and holding tank. Really no other gear. It leans towards the starboard side.
Now, intuativily I relieze that it is leaning due to an inbalance in weight. I just dont understand were this inbalance is. The fuel tanks are centered, the head and holding only account for maybe 40 lbs. Everything else seems symetric in the boat.
My grady has two batteries on the starboard and one on the port. I bought another battery and put in the port storage area and it helped alittle. I am still off by about 110 lbs. (Pefectly level when my wife stand on the port side).

Congrats on your new ride. Great boat; you'll love it. As to the "leaning", was it windy out there today? It is normal for your boat (and many others) to lean into the wind. Bring the tab down slightly on that side to level her.

You might want to keep your wife to port there Tim!
Try running with some weight on your port side as if your
44gal livewell was full . I've noticed that the boat runs better fully loaded.
To get the best tab/ engine trim adjustment I bring it up to planning speed then the trim and tabs get worked. If I'm going through a confused sea like an area of multiple boat wakes from all angles I'll slow down for traffic but if I've got the room I'll bust through.
Slow down and get a feel for the boat engine trim/tab response before you try to run it WOT. Remember that you only need to hit the trim and tab for short bursts as they are
very responsive.
Keep us posted!

It leans just sitting at the dock...
If I filled the live well at the dock I am certain it would be level. Have you ever noticed yours leaning when in the slip and full of fuel?

Mmmm mine doesn't lean except when going into a wind as the above post stated. Try great grady.com and see if you can get an answer. Also, the Grady White staff may be able to give you an answer. I've found that they are very helpful. Good luck.. me and the admiral really enjoy ours.

Congrats on having a 110 pound wife.
I was thinking the same thing but was too scared to post in case the Admiral logs on

Agree about contacting Grady directly.

Mine lists a little to the right at rest as well with water and holding tanks empty. I figure it's a good thing becauseI like to fill my water tank(which levels it off)before I go out so I have enough for washing and also to hose the reels off on the way back. A full livewell does the job too and is great storage for ice and drinks if it is isn't smelling fishy!

The two oil tanks areat the far ends of the transom. If the list is more pronounced you could check the levels on those as well to make sure they are close.
