go to floridasportsman.com There is a guy over there with a new Sea Vee. Also since it is a florida mostly forum there will be more Sea Vee guys there in general.
hey aqua, i live on the cape too. Yarmouth... I'm actually thinking about a Sea Vee myself. i have all the brochures and price list, etc. They seem like a sweet deal for the quality you get.. There was one at allen harbor a couple of weeks ago ( customer's boat i think) i checked it out a little and without really crawling all over it, I was impressed. Only thing that wierds me out is the potential of having to ship the boat back to Florida if anything goes wrong.... Atleast we have an Ocean Master dealer in the area if I go that route.. I realize i don't have any real answers for you, but if I find any other opinions I will let you know. Also let me know if you come up with anything...
Yes, i own a sea vee. Its a 1998 25 with a single 250 yammy. I absolutely love this boat. It is the probably the best riding single engine boat on the water. When you factor in the ride, efficiency and overall performance I think its hard to beat. The boat handles the nasty stuff really well which surprised me when I sea trialed because it is very light. The bow stays down and sticks to the water under most of the conditions I fish in. The fit and finish is OK, nothing great. I hear that the newer boats have greatly improved however. Do you have any specific questions?

For my $$ its by far the absolute best riding boat for its size. I want one.Interesting comment coming from a 26' cat owner...Out of curiousity (I've never ridden either brand), which size Sea Vee are you comparing to (the 26')?
I just returned this weekend from Miami and visited the SeaVee factory. I have a 25 contender and am looking to upgrade to a 31 ft. class boat and took a test ride on their's. Without a doubt, their boats are well made and have an excellent fit and finish. The sea trial was very impressive and I plan on purchasing their 31 w/ twin 250's.
Does the new 31' SeaVee have a closed transom without a door? I can't really tell on their website or the brochure. The other models appear to have closed transoms...
What do want to know, I had a 1996 25' CC with a gas inboard that I sold...looked around for about 6 months before I sold it for another bigger CC and ended up buying a 1997 28' CC with a cuddy and gas inboard...They have changed the transom design since these models to include a live well. I don't like the look as much because they took the camber out of the cap on the transom so now it is relatively flat. Anyway, I'm probably buying another boat in the 28-31 range with twin 4 stroke outboards in about a year and half....very good chance it will be another seavee. The new 31 and 34 blow the old ones away with fit and finish...they are truelly top notch. If have any specific question let me know.
Looked at one for sale in Morehead City last year and it looked like a good boat. It had the 300hp Yanmar Diesel. Only thing I didn't like is the gunnels seemed low at the stern. Really liked the boat and would consider buying one, they sold it before I could sea trial it...
The 34 is their best boat. The whole line of boats is nice, all very comparable to Contender or Whitewater.
I will disagree with the comment that for the best bang for the $$$$$. I think the boats are way overpriced. They are more $$$ than Contenders which are overpriced to begin with. Seavee is like the new kid on the block, everyone wants one right now because the 31 is new and everybody else has a Contender 31.
seems to me they are a lttle cheaper than Contenders and Regulators.. If I didn't live 1500 miles from the factory, I probably would have one ordered. I'm just concerned about the "what ifs" in case of a problem. I would love to hear about someones experiences with a potential problem and how it was resolved. With no dealerships, I hope they do what it takes to make things right...
