Check on the block itself - sometimes it's stamped on there or mounted on a small plate.

Clockwise rotation Looking from front (waterpump) to back (Dist.) L/h side 2 (w/p) 4 6 8 R/h 1 3 5 7.
Bring Motor to TDC on 1 and look at rotor.

Is the counter-rotation done in the transmission on your boat?

Crusaders since about 1994 achieve counter-rotation in the transmission rather than the engine.

Thanks bro! i tried a search but couldnt come up with the diagram.

so the only thing left that is unclear to me is what is #1 on the dist cap?, the dist cap isnt numbered.... or does it not matter where you start on the dist cap, as long as the order is sequential?

I know this must be a stupid question, just have never lost count b4....

Thanks again...

thats just it the cap when in position and screwed in each side has no top dead center, their holes are off set and start left or right of dead center....Iam being thick here? lol , im assuming i would start to the 1st hole right of top dead center...

On the '87's counter-rotation was done in the engine.
